Launceston STI drop-in clinic continuing into 2023

A Launceston drop-in clinic for routine sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing will continue in 2023 thanks to the popularity of the service.

A total of 40 people have used the Wednesday afternoon, nurse-led clinic since the pilot started in October 2022.

The clinic aims to encourage more people to get tested for STIs, particularly young people and those who are not able to book an appointment in advance or prefer not to.

The new Launceston clinic at 93 Paterson Street is close to Launceston College and headspace. This makes it particularly convenient to access for young people, who have the highest rates of chlamydia and gonorrhea in Australia.

The STI drop-in clinic runs every Wednesday from 2.30 – 4.30pm; patients can simply present at reception and let us know they are here for the drop-in clinic.

STI tests can also be booked on the Book Appointment page on our website through the button below.
