Extended Skills Registrar Placements

Family Planning Tasmania welcomes enquiries from registrars interested in an extended skills placement in any one of our three clinics in Burnie, Glenorchy and Launceston.

Applicants need to have passed all components of the Family Planning Alliance of Australia Sexual and Reproductive Health certificate before undertaking registrar placement.

You’ll need to be a minimum of GPT3 and registrar placements can be undertaken in all three FPT clinics, depending on availability.

Registrars will begin by observing sessions and then, as their competencies develop, will proceed to running their own consultations with supervisor support.

Registrars are expected to insert IUDs during their placement with Family Planning Tasmania and appropriate training will be available to registrars if they require it.

Registrars are required to undertake MS2 Step training prior to placement and will be involved in the provision of medication termination of pregnancy.

To enquire or register please contact clinics@fpt.asn.au.
