Family Planning Tasmania Empowers Students at Claremont College Health and Wellbeing Expo
Family Planning Tasmania recently had the opportunity to attend the Health and Wellbeing Expo at Claremont College on March 30th. It was a fantastic event where students had the chance to interact with various healthcare providers and learn about the services they offer. Family Planning Tasmania was pleased to see many students attend, as it was mandatory for them to participate.
One of the event’s highlights was the fishing game that Family Planning Tasmania had set up. Students had the chance to “catch” different STIs and were thrilled to learn more about them. It was great to see students engage and ask questions, indicating that they were receptive to learning about sexual health and well-being.
Family Planning Tasmania also distributed about 50 condoms and lubricant packs, ensuring that students had access to safe and reliable contraception and had interactions with around 100 students. This is an important step towards ensuring that young people have the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
Moreover, attending the Health and Wellbeing Expo provided Family Planning Tasmania with the opportunity to network with other healthcare providers, including the school nurse and other organisations that were present. This collaboration helps to ensure that students have access to a range of healthcare services and support.
Overall, it was a great experience for Family Planning Tasmania to attend the Health and Wellbeing Expo at Claremont College. It was heartening to see so many students engage with sexual health and well-being topics and to know that we could provide them with valuable information and resources. We look forward to future events where we can continue to educate and empower young people to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.
